Giving Tuesday

Basic Scenarios we can make possible with Goodpin

A person with the app walks into a restaurant, and they get a push notification on the Goodpin app that a corporate sponsor would like to give them $5 to give to a charity, no strings attached other than publish to your FB/Twitter. And then if the person matches that donation by the sponsor, the restaurant can push the person an offer of their choosing (e.g. free pint, free coffee, 10% off their next bill...) – again, all publishing to social.

We can easily do simple matching campaigns as well, offered in specific locations (like a coffee shop or restaurant) or city / province wide.

These campaigns can be tagged to specific locations within the application, using location and a relevancy algorithm to present to potential donors.

All donations through Goodpin will be summed up in real time, and presented to users though the GivingTuesday campaign on www.good.pn, helping drive momentum across the province.

The Opportunity

Offer your current clients the chance to be part of #GivingTuesdayYYC, #Giving TuesdayYEG or #CentralABGives in a unique and innovative way.

  • Offer your current charities and see if they have current sponsors that want to give $1,000 - $5,000 away to them via Goodpin in your city, or even at particular retail outlets
  • Offer your current Sponsors the chance to give their funds to their charity of choice either as a straight gift (in exchange for a social post) or as matching a donor’s funds
  • Increased donations
  • Increased advocacy
  • Channel for ongoing authentic outreach to donors

Benefits to Charities:

  • Increased donations
  • Increased advocacy
  • Channel for ongoing authentic outreach to donors

Benefits to Sponsors:

  • Increased brand awareness and association with Social Good
  • Positive PR
  • Aggregate impact due to their funding

What To Do Next

  • Find sponsors who want to initiate GivingTuesday campaigns (possibly also with retailers)
  • Find Charities that have matching sponsors that want to initiate GivingTuesday campaigns (possibly also with retailers)
  • Contact the Goodpin team to get your campaigns setup! darren@good.pn

The global philanthropy movement #GivingTuesday is right around the corner on December 1. It’s the Tuesday that follows the other global movements of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  We’ve been working on ways to really amp up our community’s participation in this global movement. We’ve joined forces with Goodpin to offer a truly innovative and engaging possibility to donors, charities, and sponsors.  We’re calling our campaign “Alberta: Good Happens Here.” In particular for sponsors, you can leverage your investment in the community to get more dollars towards your cause through matching, more awareness of your cause and your organization’s efforts through the social posting, and more organizational and employee pride in the specific impact you are making happen!

Goodpin is an app and website that brings together people, charities, and brands / sponsors to make the world just plain better.
