Director, Development and Alumni Engagement, UBC Athletics

Reporting dually to the Executive Director of Development and the Senior Athletics Director, the Director of Development & Alumni Engagement for UBC Athletics is responsible for overseeing and directing the unit's resource development program and activities in support of UBC’s 25 different varsity teams. The Director oversees all development activities, engaging donors, prospects, alumni and sponsors. The Director will build a strategy that encompasses the unique opportunities each team represents, as well as the overall package of UBC Athletics as a whole. He/she will draw on experiences in fundraising, sponsorship, events and volunteer programs to build a cohesive and robust program for the unit.

You are passionate about sport and inspired by the opportunity to leverage that passion into opportunity for UBC Athletics. You may be leading the development function of a philanthropic organization, or you may be in a leadership role in a sports organization with revenue generation or partnership development responsibilities. As a leader, you will be able to add value to the division’s various philanthropic activities – from annual giving to sponsorship to major gifts – while working with UBC’s Development function to take advantage of central programs and strengths. Your relationship skills will allow you to work effectively with an engaged alumni, volunteer and donor base, and you have a reputation for being able to work with a wide array of donors. Your analytical and administrative skills will ensure the UBC Athletics development program is stewarded and trusted. You are comfortable working independently and autonomously, and are not afraid to contribute diversity of thought and perspective to a broader team.
