AFP - CALGARY & AREA CHAPTER

The AFP Calgary & Area Chapter is one of 12 Canadian chapters, and has over 380 members. We support our membership with comprehensive benefits to foster their development and growth as fundraising professionals. The following programs and services are integral benefits of membership:

• AFP First Course and Survey Course on Fundraising

• AFP professional certification exam. We support eligible chapter members in studying for the certification exam by providing mentors, offering workshops and group study sessions, and by sponsoring the AFP Survey Course on Fund Raising.

• AFP - Calgary & Area Chapter newsletter & membership directory; and Calgary & area consultants directory

  AFP- CANADIAN COUNCIL
  
  Recently an AFP Canadian Council was developed to:

• Be the national voice for the fundraising profession;
• Promote public understanding of philanthropy and philanthropic giving;
• Promote public awareness of the fundraising profession and ethical fundraising practices;
• Advocate on behalf of Canadian chapters for Canadian issues, as they arise;
• Serve as a catalytic forum for discussion of Canadian issues;
• Assist in the creation of new chapters in Canada;
• Coordinate Canadian Government Relations activities;
• Liaise with and support the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy in Canada; and
• Foster international cooperation and knowledge exchange with other AFP national councils [Canada is the first national council]
