THANK YOU once again to the 104 Calgary & Area members who helped to raise $18,113 for your AFP Foundation for Philanthropy – Canada in 2007.

The Foundation is dedicated to helping fundraisers as they serve in their community. The goal of the Foundation is to generate the resources needed to fund strategic initiatives that advance ethical and effective fundraising.

Heartfelt thanks to Joan Black, CFRE and Andrea McManus, CFRE who are lead donors for your 2008 Calgary & Area Campaign at the Stewards’ Club Level. We are also proud to confirm 100% participation from the Calgary & Area Board of Directors.

We invite you to count yourself in as a supporter of your 2008 Every Member Campaign (EMC).Your gift is vital to help us reach our 2008 Calgary & Area goals of $17,200 and 32% participation (we achieved 27% in 2007). Your EMC donation will help:

• provide scholarships and bursaries to members and non-members alike
• assist chapters in delivering the Essentials of Fundraising
• series
• manage the National Career Mentoring Program
• help complete our Cost of Fundraising Study
• ensure materials are available to our members in both official languages

Did you know that 25% of all funds raised will come back here to support local initiatives? In 2007, these funds were applied towards the Professionals Forum during our National Philanthropy Day celebrations.
