Welcome to the Calgary & Area Chapter

AFP Calgary & Area Chapter was founded in 1996 and has now nearly 400 active AFP members, who serve as development directors, fundraising consultants, grant writers, volunteer fundraisers, foundation executive and other individuals dedicated to fundraising and philanthropy.

AFP Calgary & Area has regular scheduled lunch meeting featuring local speakers and topic relevant to your every day work.  The chapter also offers education and networking opportunities such as Banff Compass, National Philanthropy Day luncheon, audio conferences and CFRE study groups to help meet the needs of fundraisers at all levels.

Nature of the Organization: Beakerhead Creative Society is the organizing team at the heart of an annual movement that culminates in a five-day spectacle that brings together the arts and engineering sectors to build, engage, compete and exhibit interactive works of art, engineered creativity and entertainment. The society’s activities at the provincial, national and international level are coordinated by a core secretariat located in Calgary, Alberta. Primary Purpose of the Position: Under the general direction of the President, the Development Director will implement a comprehensive multi-strategy development plan for Beakerhead. The newly created role is designed to proactively support the goals of the organization through strategic and results-focused fundraising, sponsorship and stewardship programs.
