AFP Calgary & Area Chapter was founded in 1996 and has now nearly 400 active AFP members, who serve as development directors, fundraising consultants, grant writers, volunteer fundraisers, foundation executive and other individuals dedicated to fundraising and philanthropy.

AFP Calgary & Area has regular scheduled lunch meeting featuring local speakers and topic relevant to your every day work.  The chapter also offers education and networking opportunities such as Banff Compass, National Philanthropy Day luncheon, audio conferences and CFRE study groups to help meet the needs of fundraisers at all levels.

Reporting to Director of Development and based out of the Calgary office, the Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts (SDO) works to ensure STARS fundraising goals are met by serving the philanthropic goals of STARS donors and prospects. The SDO is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts to the Foundation, with the goal of facilitating $1,000,000 or more in gifts each year. Jun 15 - Manager, Donor Relations
Reporting directly to the Resource Development Director, the Donor Relations Manager is responsible for the execution of yearly fundraising goals through the development, growth, and stewardship of existing and new major donor accounts. This position manages the donor acknowledgment process for all major donors, develops RFP’s, implements strategies for major donor prospect identification, cultivation, and stewardship, assists with fundraising campaigns, and conducts donor research, data management, and analysis.
